This year’s LogiMat takes place in Stuttgart from March 19 to 21. At the Kardex stand (Hall 1, Stand H49), the company will be presenting the latest developments towards greater efficiency in intralogistics. The innovations include assistant systems that support operators regarding picking quality, performance, and ergonomics. Also new are the advanced software solutions and the significantly improved planning and commissioning of new plants using digital twins.
A live demonstration of the “Intuitive Picking Assistant” at the Kardex stand will show how picking information is projected directly to the user interface at the workstation. “Here, we align with the trend toward intuitive and user-friendly operation, which reacts to movements and guides the operator. This facilitates ergonomic, fast, and error-free picking,” explains Tobias Flury, Head of Technology at Kardex Remstar.

As a global AutoStore partner, Kardex’s Intuitive Picking Assistant differentiates it from other providers. The new picking assistant works extremely efficiently and can flexibly adapt to specific customer requirements. This flexibility makes the Kardex assistant system a tailored solution, integrated seamlessly into different intralogistics processes. |
A further highlight at the Kardex stand is the “Wearable Task Assistant”. This is a portable device that makes the picking operation even more efficient and ergonomic. With functions such as a hands-free scanner, pick and place support, and a color-coded display on the operator’s wrist, the “Wearable Task Assistant” reduces the error rate to a minimum and improves the quality of the picking operation. |
Visitors can test for themselves just how fast and easy the picking operation can be at the Kardex Vertical Lift Module at the stand. The integration of software makes the Kardex Vertical Lift Module a world-leading solution in intralogistics.
The new software cloud solution not only offers greater data security, but also enables simplified implementation, agile process adaptation, fast onboarding, and an overall improved user experience.

The Kardex Control Center control software has been completely updated and reworked. The modular system has been improved in many aspects and has been optimized for cross-system picking stations. Users benefit from a standardized design for the management of pallet storage, mini-load systems, and AutoStore plants. The Kardex Control Center offers multifunctional operation and has been tailored for goods-to-person picking stations. The intuitive operation enables very short training times. The solution grows in line with the requirements of the customers and is equally suitable for an introduction to automation and the control of fully automated e-fulfillment centers. |

Another innovation is the means to significantly improve project planning of new plants using the digital twin, which facilitates a virtual go-live before actual commissioning. “With the transfer of planning data from the project planning department, we now have a consistent data basis from project planning, through mechanical and electrical construction, right up to software development,” explains Christoph Höger, Head of Automation at Kardex Mlog.

In conjunction with the Kardex Control Center, the digital twin offers the following advantages: At an early stage in the project, the customer gains a realistic impression of the overall plant and can begin to familiarize themselves with the software functionality. In collaboration with the customer, the planned workflows and work processes can be tested and optimized in the live system. However, providing the customer with a test system is also possible. They can test the host system under real conditions, including possible system faults, and hold necessary training courses in advance. Using the digital twin significantly shortens the time required for commissioning and, therefore, the overall project runtimes. The new software cloud solution not only offers greater data security, but also enables simplified implementation, agile process adaptation, fast onboarding, and an overall improved user experience. |
Furthermore, visitors to the Kardex stand can interactively experience the solution portfolio, from classic storage systems to fully automated high-bay warehouses. Comprehensive service and refurbishment packages complete the Kardex range.
Kardex is a leading provider of intralogistics solutions for automated storage and retrieval systems and material flow systems in an attractive and growing market. Consisting of two entrepreneurially managed divisions, Kardex Remstar and Kardex Mlog, and of corporate ventures (Intertex, Rocket Solution, Kardex AS Solutions), which provide complementary cutting-edge technology, Kardex has become a global industry partner. Kardex operates four production facilities and employs some 2,000 people in more than 50 countries worldwide. Kardex Holding AG has been listed on the Swiss SIX Stock Exchange since 1987.
Kardex Remstar is a global market leader in dynamic storage and retrieval systems and material flow solutions. Kardex Mlog is a leader in Central Europe in the field of stacker cranes, conveying technology, and automated material flow systems. Both divisions are united under a strong corporate brand. With over 140,000 installed Kardex Remstar machines and some 1,000 Kardex Mlog storage systems, Kardex has a broad customer base that enjoys first-class after-sales service.
Kardex Holding is a partner in the technology start-up company, Rocket Solution. The company develops highly sustainable latest-generation shuttle systems. These systems meet all performance requirements from slow-moving small-parts warehouses to highly dynamic shuttle buffers. In conjunction with innovative quadruple-deep storage, the solutions feature outstanding levels of space savings.
Kardex AS Solutions provides solutions based on AutoStoreTM, a storage robot technology specialist that develops and installs cube storage automation, among the most compact order processing solutions in the market.
Together, the two divisions and the corporate ventures have amassed a wealth of expertise on the trends, problems, and logistics requirements in selected industry segments.
