Kardex Mlog: Martin ten Cate new Sales Manager for BeNeLux
6 November 2024, Company News
In October this year, Martin ten Cate became the new Sales Manager BeNeLux at Kardex Mlog. With this addition to the team, the leading provider of integrated material flow systems and high-bay warehouses is boosting its activities in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. ten Cate, a 58-year-old mechanical engineer and father of four, has more than 34 years of experience in the intralogistics sector. Most recently, he was a key account manager for BOWE Intralogistics and, before that, Manager Sales Europe for the spiral conveyor specialists, Royal Apollo Group. In addition, he has 15 years of experience as Senior Sales Manager Logistic Solutions for high-bay warehouse systems and intralogistics systems.
ten Cate, a keen skier and runner, hopes to make his mark and significantly drive Kardex Mlog’s business in the BeNeLux region. “When dealing with the construction of automated warehouses and retrofit projects, you need to take the long view. The period up to the award of the contract is more like a marathon than a sprint,” explains the sales professional, who was born in the Dutch town of Wierden and manages a motocross team in his spare time. The economic outlook is improving: In Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg, suitable sites for constructing logistics centers are becoming harder and harder to find, leading to price increases. With this in mind, ten Cate is counting “on a sustained trend towards automated high-bay warehouses.”
For automated bin and carton transport, alongside storage and picking systems, Kardex is the number one partner. At the same time, it is becoming more and more economically attractive to refurbish and continue using existing plants. “Considering the wealth of retrofit experience Kardex Mlog can count on, this development is very much in the company’s interest,“ says ten Cate.
Kardex Mlog can provide stacker cranes of up to 48 meters in height, which allows the company to construct extremely sustainable high-bay warehouses with minimal ground sealing per stored pallet. Kardex Mlog is also a recognized specialist in refurbishing complex automated warehouses during ongoing operations. Here, it makes no difference if the original plant was constructed by Kardex Mlog or by a third‑party provider.
