Bezvavlasy partnered with Kardex to Implement an Advanced Automated System

This collaboration has resulted in the deployment of an advanced automated system, including the installation of five Kardex Shuttle and six Kardex Megamat units at Bezvavlasy’s new distribution center in Bor, Tachov.

Addressing Customer Challenges

As Bezvavlasy a.s. prepared to expand its operations into international markets, the company faced significant challenges in scaling its warehousing and logistics capabilities to meet growing demand. Its existing manual processes and reliance on third-party logistics (3PL) providers were insufficient to handle the projected growth, resulting in inefficiencies, increased costs and delays in order fulfilment.

"Our primary goal was to improve our operational efficiency, reduce order processing times and gain full control over our logistics," said Aleš Hudeček, Chairman of the Board, Bezvavlasy a.s. "We needed a partner who could provide a scalable solution to support our rapid growth while allowing us to move away from working with a 3PL."

Project Scope and Implementation

In response to these challenges, Kardex implemented an advanced automated system tailored to Bezvavlasy’s specific needs. The project scope included the installation of five Kardex Shuttle and six Kardex Megamat units, as well as the use of a sophisticated Warehouse Management System (WMS) to streamline inventory management and order processing.

The new distribution centre, strategically located close to the German border, covers an area of 2,400 m² and has a clear height of 11.4 meters, enabling it to store up to 3.5 million items. This extensive facility ensures that Bezvavlasy can efficiently manage its current and future inventory levels, supporting the company's goal of achieving sales of up to CZK 3 billion over the next decade.

"Our automated system is designed to optimize storage capacity, improve order accuracy and ensure a fast picking process, giving Bezvavlasy full control over their logistics and enabling significant cost savings."

Expected Outcomes

The implementation of the Kardex system has brought significant benefits to Bezvavlasy:

Increased Efficiency: The automated systems reduced order processing times by 7 working days, enabling faster order fulfilment for both wholesale and e-commerce orders.

Cost Savings: By moving away from third-party logistics and managing its own operations, the new warehouse facility is expected to save up to CZK 400,000 per month in logistics and warehousing costs.

Scalability: The scalable solution supports Bezvavlasy's expansion into new markets, including Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Romania, with further European growth planned.

Full Control: With everything under its own control, Bezvavlasy was able to ensure better quality management and respond more quickly to market changes.
